Clever Solar Devices has been awarded €1.2 million by MITECO to develop a smart platform for digitizing photovoltaic maintenance. Based in Soria, the project aims to boost energy efficiency and create jobs in rural areas. The grant is part of the PERTE ERHA and funded through Spain’s Recovery Plan.

Estabanell launches the second edition of its energy startup acceleration program, reinforcing its commitment to innovation. Clever Solar Devices participated in the first edition and is currently collaborating with Estabanell on a proof of concept to optimize photovoltaic maintenance. Applications are open until April 14, offering funding, mentorship, and the opportunity to test solutions in a real-world environment.
Fifteen startups will develop 22 technological projects in partnership with 21 leading Basque companies.
Clever Solar Devices has been selected to participate in the ninth edition of BIND, the open innovation platform driven by the Basque Government through the SPRI Group. This public-private program aims to connect technology startups with large companies to foster digitalization and industrial efficiency in the Basque Country.

One of the essential routines in solar plant maintenance is inspecting the facilities to ensure they operate correctly. This procedure is carried out manually and, in addition to accounting for 70% of operational costs, exposes technicians to risks associated with high voltages, extreme temperatures, and challenging terrain.
“I was surprised at how outdated the operation and maintenance process in photovoltaics was,” explains Bhishma Hernández.
